The purpose of LeaderShare is to provide insights on personal leadership development journeys, in the hopes that the trials and tribulations of others will become helpful guides to interested explorers. We are using the Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner leadership research as our base camp and will travel out from there.

Although we may each have a different mountain to climb, sharing what we are learning on our journeys can enable safer passage for all of us.

Blog posts on LeaderShare are categorized into stories that illustrate one of the 5 Practices from Kouzes and Posner research:

The word “lead” comes from the old English “leden” (c. 900 AD), which meant “go, travel, guide” … leaving where we are to explore and find a better place to live, then returning to show others the way to that brighter future.

For the individual, the journey to better leadership is intensely personal … yet one that can be facilitated by sharing what we are learning along the way. This is the purpose of my website.

Whatever your journey, wherever it takes you, whenever … nothing is more important than your will to drive you forward. Consider the wisdom in this German proverb:

Wealth lost, something lost;

Honour lost, much lost;

Courage lost, all lost.

I am sadly unable to attribute this great photo. I love it because it says that the journey to your future starts with resolve. Do you have a daughter? A sister? A granddaughter? If so, you may have seen this pose. This is exactly the mindset your future requires!
